This title totally excites me. It's almost like saying "God has a surprise for you today." I LOVE surprises.
Yesterday we answered theJesus question. Today we talk about whether we believe our answer and get more proof that He was who He said He was. YAY! Childish exclamation, I know...but it's exciting. I wish I knew who I was and who/what I was meant to be.
Now I have to admit after yesterday I didn't think there could be anymore to it. But of course there is more validation that Jesus is God.
POINT TO PONDER:
Knowing about Jesus is not the same as knowing Jesus.
Now this is interesting because I honestly feel like I know Jesus just as much, if not more, than I actually know about Jesus. I think I continue to build on my relationship with Jesus, just like I do any other relationship. This point almost requires few words and more thought.
VERSE TO LIVE:
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God - what is good and acceptable and perfect." ROMANS 12:2
Here is another reminder that God's plan and will for our lives is perfect even though we often times, no...we many times do not understand what is going on in our lives. We have to remember why we are here and what is truly important. I feel like I'm about to go through a huge lesson in this.
We are buying a piece of property and potentially building a house. It's a huge leap and a even bigger undertaking. It could and will probably lead to many decisions that are based on conformity, trends, keeping up with the "whomevers" and wanting things that are unnecessary for the fulfillment of God's will for us. Perhaps conversation regarding our new home will be discussed with Jesus and dictated by Him. In the stillness in the quiet we can speak to God and get to know Him, listen to Him and what he wants for us. It reminds me of a song I heard in college at the BSU (Baptist Student Union) and yeah, I'm Catholic. I went to the Catholic student union as well. Here is the song as song by Chris Tomlin but there are other versions.
QUESTION TO CONSIDER:
Do you have a really good reason not to take Jesus at his word?
HA- that's easy. NOPE! No, I sure don't. My great grandmother taught my grandmother. My grandmother taught my mother. My mother taught me and I'm teaching Claire. I'm sure it started even before that - why stop now? It's gotten us this far. No need to turn back.
PRAYER:
Jesus, I believe. Help me to grown out of my doubts and unbelief.
When we think it's over - God has more. When we think we're at our lowest, well there is nowhere to you and nowhere to look, but up. When we think that we're all alone, it is then that HE is there and no matter how little the space or how many people are there with us...HE is most definitely there too.
